Drivng the steamboat!?!

Nope, something ore important, Engineer!

The Captain can ring the bell and yell commands, the Purser can tie and untie his ropes all day, but if I don't make the tea kettle (boiler)hot enough for steam, we ain't moving this side of forever! ;^)

What fun it is, and how many guys can put that they are an Engineer on a 100 year old steamboat as job experience? It is just as it was in 1906 when it was build, and its like going back a bit in history to ride on it. Now that my knees are damaged by the accident, I may have to stop engineering, as its hard to get into the places in the engine space I have too. If that's the case, I'll work on the hull in the winter, polish the brass, or sand the woodwork, or sell tickets, but I will continue to have fun on the boat. I love volunteering at the museum anyway!
