see, here's the deal, in math terms
compensation means "rendering equal" - a surplus exactly matching/making up for a deficiency.
"overcompensation" would thus indicate that the surplus more than makes up for the, ah, shortcoming.
in this troll's case, I doubt any surplus could accomplish this feat.
