BEHAVIOR causes the spread of AIDS; the actual vehicle is immaterial.

Very wise words, JimRed. I would only add that if these scientists are correct (they now number in the thousands), then AIDS isn't even infectious, it is caused by behavior in the strictest sense of the word.
