Friday my sister almost made a similar mistake...But in her case she was getting ready to tell the man "Just give me a yes or no answer. Stop being a Democrat!" Luckily she caught herself.

Ive made a hobby out of finding common ground with liberals. Once they feel comfortable bashing conservatives I point out that I'm a conservative.
There are a couple of common reactions. Some become angry that I had somehow deceived them. They are lost cause cases. Those that apologize aren't hopeless, they've been forced to think a little bit.
