Re: ratings, what time periods are being compared? Perhaps a ratings decline is the result of the election season ending last November.
I recall Bill O'Reilly making some pro-Terri remarks.
Many reporters frequently rely on what other reporters are saying, instead of doing any digging into a story for themselves.
Such laziness can easily beget much spreading of erroneous information, e.g. the erroneous claim that Terri was in a persistent vegetative state.
I heard O'Reilly say that Terri couldn't feel pain-- laziness.

Senator King seemed in a rush for Terri Schiavo to depart planet
earth.

Jim King is in trouble with or without Terri. He must be voted out of office or people in Duval get what they deserve.

They are buddies with some big time republicans too. It's really appalling the republicans who were on board for Terri to be killed by GOP Judge Greer.
Where Savage is concerned, I am totally willing to admit that as a possibility.

Terri's law passed the first time. It's funny how campaign contributions can help grease a politician's mental gears making a change in mind possible.

Was totally ticked; however, at Shepard's response to Terri's autopsy report; released just before his airtime. . .(he opened, offering that all was hype and it was a huge waste of time and money and apparently media coverage; and that the husband was 'right all along'); turned him off as well. . .
And now Natalee. . .it all is beginning to just be more than a viewer should have to endure. . .
ALSO sick of all those at FoxNews who still cannot say 'PRESIDENT BUSH'; but prefer MR. Bush or 'the President'. Even when I like the 'rest of their story'. With overkill on Jackson; find now, when irritated;. . .I am just willing to suffer less. . .and becoming more inclined to just turn itd off. . .
Given that I have sattellite radio so that I can listen to Fox News. . .my irritation has some 'volume'. ;^)

I watch Fox all the time, and my house represents 65,000 households.
Really should not write this late/early; too many mistakes. . .that said; I had turned off Fox News (radio) and was listening to Savage (whom I mostly like) when he made his comments about Fox News and I thought 'he is just one disgruntled Libertarian today, trying to flex muscle against Fox; just to check his own influence at the same time'. . .. . .and I turned him off as well, after his Fox analysis. . .
As I said, Michael Jackson has given me a low pain threshold. . .
I think I watch about 5-10 minutes of Fox per day, at best. I wasn't watching much either when the Terri Shiavo travesty was happening--it was bad enough seeing so much leftist MSM spin from FReepers.
Fox overdid it with the Peterson story too. Oh, and I remember a fairly recent thread saying that they were showing a live car chase. Now that's just sad.
Ratings always go dowon this time of year....better weather, people doing things other than watching TV...
A couple chases a week out in California; one yesterday afternoon. Amazing. Everyone wants their 'fifteen minutes'. . .some want it being chased down the freeway.
And the media is happy to accomodate them.
