It's too bad that the greatest pitcher in recent memory isn't given anything for run support. Especially when he throws four gems in a row and only gets one win out of it.

Roger Clemens is a punk. Sure he is a great pitcher but he's a little punk.

(I'm a Mets fan and therefore very biased in my opinion :)

Cedeño, the Cardinal who left the bases loaded, twice, against Clemens is a reserve who was playing precisely because his career batting average against Clemens was over .400. He did get a single in his 3rd at bat against Clemens. Clemens was very good in this game. Mulder was better: gave 4 singles and no walks in 101 pitches over 10 innings and allowed no base runners beyond 2nd base.

I'm a Cardinals fan. We won in the tenth. Those are the breaks Rocket.
Look at it from the Cardinals' pitching staff point of view. The team only produced one run in the game.

He should have come back to the Red Sox for one last year. He would have been welcomed with open arms - and run support wouldn't be an issue.

Clemens and John Smoltz need to pitch against each other so one of them will eventually win a game...

I watched this game and Roger was good, but Mulder was better. And the beauty is the Cards swept them. Gonna be a long season for the 'Stro's if they don't revive the offense.

Roger Clemens' petty detractors won't be remembered. Roger and his records will live on forever. We're just grateful to have him back in his home state.

I have lived in the Housotn Aera for all my life. And there historically is nothing like a Houston sports team to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

For the third consecutive start, Clemens pitched seven scoreless innings, but for his third consecutive start, the Astros lost 1-0 in extra innings.

If he wanted to be on a winning team he should have stayed with the Yankees.

Roger Clemens may be a great pitcher, but he is also a Major League Jerk Ahole!

Consider the possibility that when Clemens is pitching the strike zone is larger. So to be fair, the umpire also calls a larger strike zone for the opposing pitcher too. Thus, the correlation between pitching great when facing Clemens and pitching mediocre the rest of the time when facing other pitchers.
