Friday, April 22, 2005

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. I’m just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words “as if” can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.

SINISTER

Adj
Pronunciation: Sin/i/ster.

adjective: (heraldry) on or starting from the wearer's left
Example: "Bar sinister"
adjective: stemming from evil characteristics or forces; wicked or dishonorable
Example: "The scheme of some sinister intelligence bent on punishing him-Thomas Hardy"
adjective: threatening or foreshadowing evil or tragic developments
Example: "Sinister storm clouds"

Morning-I posted my excuse for being absent on yesterday's thread-it was for a good cause-

The sinister left keeps throwing
Accusations wrong and sick
At Tom De Lay, Bolton etc
Hoping some of it will stick

They are beginning to look childish
Like naughtey girls and boys
Who pout and throw big tantrums
When someone takes away their toys

It is beginning to appear that
People are tired of their crap
And that they need a smacking
And to go and take a nap

I knew it all along. The woman is bonkers. After hearing the story, I went out the next day and got a Wendy's burger.

A++++ for you.

I get up a little before 5:00 a.m.

I was playing some games on the 'puter last night. It's my fault.

64 and overcast here-it is supposed to start raining this afternoon and tomorrow-down into the 40's tomorrow night, but thankfully not freezing.

EARTH DAY
April 22

In the guise of concern for our environment, Earth Day was first foisted upon us on April 22, 1970.
Actually, Earth Day is another excuse for socialists, communists, fascists, leftists of all kinds and assorted other sinister perverts to gather all across America to distribute their idiot propaganda to unsuspecting "yutes" and sheeple.
Sometimes they are accurately identified, i.e. "Socialist Workers Party", but more frequently they hide behind such innocuous banners as The Sierra Club, PETA, Earth Liberation Front, etc.

Do not be deceived.

Thank you! The refugees are fine-they just finished eating again and toddled into the pet carrier to go to sleep in the rabbit pelts and towels I put in there. I've got to go collect some money, but I hope to be back soon...

xsbrownie asked if she could stay home from school today since they would be celebrating earth day. she figures we permitted her older sister to skip diversity day on Weds, so it was worth a try. i said no, bc they will still do substance today at xsbrownie's school, they won't be worshipping Gaia. she was supposed to wear either green or blue (for SKY OR EARTH) today, which she refused to do. : )

My husband has been known to use the grill in a snow storm.

I used to have a picture of him grilling a steak surrounded by more than 2 feet of snow!
