Repose
Gather ye rosebuds... So they say,
And flowers ornamental.
Wear perfumed clothes in sweet repose,
With music sentimental.
The beautied bride prepares to stride,
In pomp and decoration,
Up to an altar with her Beau,
To make their declaration.
Thus we begin a special tale,
Of long and happy living,
Of tempests fought, and shelter sought,
And tempers found forgiving.
Through all the daily drudgings,
And all the meals they blest,
Each one at last seeks solace,
The peace of final rest.
How then to win a suitor,
And find a fine abode,
Except the way we learned before,
We set out on this road?
We place their friends around them,
And flowers ornamental.
In perfumed clothes and sweet repose,
With music sentimental.
In hopes a great all-seeing eye,
Will spot this decoration,
To take it up for its own sake,
And each will find salvation.
