Why? Has she done something to you?

I'm not being glib. I really don't understand why people feel the need to "punish" other people.

The tax doesn't collect much revenue, therefore punishing a parents sacrifices is the only true purpose.

estate tax...hmmm this is wealth redistribution in action..without getting a bunch of burocrats in on the game ...and without depriving those heirs willing to invest and develope their inherited resources to an even greater degree-which they can do, if they choose, far more effectively than any government jobs program could. Paris Hilton is suppporting oodles of folks as she rips her way through her millions.
