What is Santorum Thinking?
Rush Limbaugh Show | 04.21.05 | Mr.Atos

Posted on 04/21/2005 9:20:03 AM PDT by Mr.Atos

Rush is reporting this morning that the confirmation vote is staged for a confrontation in the Senate Judiciary Committee. But, Senatopr Santorum is attempting, covertly, to delay the vote again, bowing to so-called internal P.O. polling data.

Hello!... Hello?!

Count me as shocked that politicians are behaving the way politicians always have and always will.

Kind of like the piece posted earlier today from Newt's website. The longer the GOP maintains their power (as I paraphrase), the more entrenched they become in maintaining that power, to the unfortunate exclusion of the things that brought them to power in the first place.

Pubbies are just stupid. This one is so easy. Push the rule change then resurrect some old legislation that is unrelated to judges but has been successfully filibustered by the Dems even though it would have passed the full Senate. See just how quickly Sheets Byrd hits the floor again talking about his dog Billie. It puts the Dems in a lose - lose position. Either they don't filibuster and the legislation passes or they do and prove themselves liars once again.

Rush did offer a discaimer in that regard, saying the information might be a strategic 'rumor,' hence my resistance to condemn... just yet.

If it's a damned rumor, then Santorum needs to call Rush himself and tell him so. Otherwise, he's toast...

The Committee has voted both Justice Owen and Justice Brown out of Committee on a party line vote of 10-8.

Thank you for the link. So then, if Rush's info is accurate, Santorum is attempting to postpone the showdown on the floor, with respect to the vote to break the filibuster on Judicial Nominees. Same response from me...

Hello?..He-Hello?!!!

Santorum is losing it. If he's going to go down, he might as well go down fighting. Here is another nutty idea he's had, preventing the national weather service from providing free information.

NRO's, The Corner is citing a report from The Hill

Senator Santorum is calling for a delay in the use of the "nuclear option" to end the Democratic filibuster of Bush's appellate nominees.
