The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

That's pretty much it, I think. Robots amuck.

Maybe that's why "It's a small world" at Disneyland always creeped me out... the little buggers were gonna go nuts and start shooting the place up any minute...

Didn't that happen at Itchy and Scratchy World?

Hurricanes didn't waste time this year, did they?

We all need to keep those Central American folks in our prayers. They truly live in shanty towns there, especially in the valleys.

Weatherpeople have already predicted at least 20 inches of rain in the mountains of Guatemala, which is the worst possible thing that could happen, IMHO. :-(

If it moves quick, that would be fantastic!

But I'd be lying if I didn't say that at this point, I'm just glad it is isn't coming here.

We just got ~way~ too lucky last year and it's been 13 years since Andrew. Even an optimist like me admits we're past due. :P

Don't worry. FEMA's in charge. /sarcasm

The thought of FEMA handling the crisis gives me worse nightmares than the hurricane itself! LOL!

People get downright savage in those lines and there are no real checks and balances, so you'll have the opportunistic weasels prolonging the wait of those who really need the help.

I think I'd have too much to do to waste time in a FEMA line.

You'd think, right? But people want to be around people after a catastrophe, so even a FEMA line seems inviting. Blech! I'd rather be alone.

I'm heading to bed early tonight, chica. I'll see you tomorrow.

*waves to everyone*

Haven't seen that...I'd add it to our cheese list, except that I somehow doubt it's on on DVD.

I could be wrong, though!

Westworld is a classic... written and directed by Michael Crichton!

Speaking of Michael Crichton, have you seen Andromeda Strain?

Dunno... just looked it up on IMDB... had completely forgotten that it was written and directed by Michael Crighton.

Well I'll be...
