Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'll probably be sunburned until December. *sigh*

Well...we at least got the hot part down...
Actually, I had a nice day! Got in a buncha writing. I still think what I'm writing is rubbish...but rubbish can be fun to write. And it's another kid story which, if anyone reads it besides me, will either be for my sister or her (younger) friend, so it's not like I'll be subject to severe criticism.
Now I'm thinking of walking to Blockbuster now that it's starting to cool down slightly. Just have to decide what to get. I COULD be selfish and get a chick flick for me to watch alone tomorrow, but I'd feel guilty.

Preston in the original
Music Man did a GRAND job as a loveable scoundrel.
The new one with Matthew Broderick had some cool choreography...but he didn't pull off the character at all, IMO.

Heh...I've been wearing sandals...now I have stripes.
I'd switch to another pair of sandals to see if it'd help, but it'd look awfully weird for awhile.

Lows are supposed to be in the 60's. I'm planning on "camping out" in the sunroom this weekend.

It is! We're about to head up the mountain for dinner. Going from glaring hot desert to pine/fir trees and needing a fleece all in about 30 mins. I love the southwest!!

Ya know...you really should do some fiction writing.I've been used as a technical resource by a couple of writers. I know science and technology, and can fake some fairly convincing futuristic science. As far as writing goes, I just can't do dialog, description, action, or plot. Other than that, I could probably write if I wasn't so lazy.

Hehehe....
I'm watching an old episode of Battlestar Galactica. The one that's a "western." Anyway...there's a bar on this planet that plays Scott Joplin rags on a synthesizer.
