The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 04/21/2005 6:44:57 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I haven't been able to find a Red Zinfandel in a box...I'd rather have the box! And I feel awkward going in to the likker store saying "I want the cheapest, highest alcohol wine in a box you got...as long as it's Red Zinfandel!"

ROFLOL!!! The mental picture cracks me up.

So there you are...big fancy restaurant...big fancy steaks...Steve resplendent in something highly uncomfortable...waiter with nose at full altitude...

"Will madame see the wine list?"

"Just make it cheap, red, and mostly made of squished grapes!"

:)

Price Chopper has beer, wine and hard liquor, wd-40, duck tape and powerball tickets, but no bait. Well, can't have everything, even in the big city.

Heh heh!! Well, I read an article about how a red wines lower cholesterol. It said that Red Zinfandel at around 16% alcohol will lower it the best.

I've been drinking 4 ounces of Woodbridge Red Zin (a little over 15% Alcohol) a few evenings every week (not every evening, even) and made some minor changes to my diet and lowered my cholesterol substantially.

And not only that, there have been some evenings when I've been most distressed and anxious (going through a tough time as you may know.) That little 4 ounce dose calms me down enough to where I can get to sleep and most the time I'm over the stress in the morning.

That doesn't happen very often, though...but I'm happier to take a four ounce glass of wine on the rare occasion than some kind of pill, you know?

Cabernet Sauvignon was also mentioned in the cholesterol article, but was not as good at lowering cholesterol as the Zin.

Couldn't find any Zins?

(It doesn't have to be good...)

It's a title of a piece of music. My sister had it as the processional at her college graduation (in 1990! I remember that year well for some reason).

The title seems odd to me :)

*wink* back atcha

Evening Ramius - hence the "need" for shoot-moot.

Haven't found any yet.

But I'm searching using "best" in the search words.

Hmmmm...why don't we ask Hair if Boone's Farm carries Red Zin? *laughing*
