The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Heh.

I need to cut the grass I've got "timid woodland creatures" nibbling in the front yard.

I'd leave it like that, then...she's the Queen of her Domain.

But maybe, after she goes on to her Reward, you could get two kitties at the same time? Then they could keep each other company? That's why my mom got two poodles...

That sun room looks like it's gonna be great!

So far, so good! I'll finish that roll of film this weekend and hopefully I'll have pictures to post next week. Maybe I'll get batteries so you can admire my wood-finishing talent. :)

Hello, ma'am!

I'm off to put the chickens back in the coop...brb.

Mmm...sunroom...

Looks nice! My cats would LOVE a sunroom. They're delighted with the big glass doors leading to the balcony here. My house didn't have ANY big windows. They love basking.

Jen went out to have a "thank goodness it's over" party with friends, so I'm sitting alone with a pint listening to maudlin Irish ballads. *snif*

Chickens are in the coop. I don't know what I'm going to do about Puffy, she just gets more and more aggressive. She just attacks Isabelle for no reason! She will run clear cross the yard to attack her.

Gonna wave a skillet at her tomorrow, I'm telling you the truth.

Heh....so far Miss Cat has used the sunroom more than I have. She takes in the evening air, basks in the sunlight, or stretches out under the breeze of the ceiling fan.

But Puffy lays great eggs! Can't you put her in Solitary?

I just planted her some more cat grass (oats and barley) and her catnip is out there although she likes store-bought better.

I might have to! You know, she used to run clear across the yard and attack Joshua! He started kicking her when she did it and she quit doing that UNLESS he squats down with his back to her...then she will run up and literally put both feet into him.

He doesn't squat down with his back to Puffy, needless to say.

I'm 'bout sick of it. The other birds don't act that way...
