I don't remember all of the details but she was raped while on tour.
She spent many years in therapy.
I don't know what happened to the guy. It was awful, she was so cute and had star quality but she was never the same after that attack.
At that time, women were reluctant to report rapes. I think the investigation with the questions was almost as bad as the rape.

See you tomorrow night.

See you tomorrow, Amy. I'm glad we got to talk a bit tonight.

Do a Google and read some of her biography. I didn't see anything about the attack but you will see what star quality she possessed. I found this particularly interesting.
"Stated that the two highlights of her career, thus far, were her performance of the song "Never on Sunday" at the 1961 Academy Awards Ceremony, and her performance for troops in Vietnam in 1968 in which she ended with the song "God Bless America" and the entire army of soldiers present stood and sang along, most of whom were in tears."
See you tomorrow, Victoria.

She is so precious. I remember when my daughter Sara was that age like yesterday. She is 25 and a half now.

Thank you, C-G.
They grow so fast.
I think I will post the zoo picture with your poem this weekend. Without looking back at pictures, it is hard to believe she is growing up.

Apropos of nearly nothing, one of the radio stations here in Vancouver has been using the photo from this album to advertise "adult radio". (Along with a Nat King Cole photo, and maybe others I haven't seen).

That album cover is so Dean Martin.
I'm giving away my age when I say I prefer the music of Dean Martin, Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra to that of whoever are today's recording biggies.

That means you've got taste, Miss Amy. Popular music anymore seems infantile, although in many cases today it seems to be constructed with more complexity than it used to be. But popular songs still seem to be about climax climax climax climax, there's little or no psychological emotional planning put into music anymore. (I like to say that Beethoven deployed more musical imagination in his 9th Symphony than has been evinced in the entire history of rock). I still listen to 50's/early 60's rock/pop (whatever it's called now) occasionally strictly for nostalgia purposes, certainly not for musical value. But even nostalgia usually can't make me sit through all those repetitions of inconsequential tunes in a 3 minute or so span. (Speaking of repetitive music, the person who wrote that song from the Titanic movie sung by Celine Dion should be hung, drawn, and quartered, but people's musical taste is so bad he probably cleaned up financially. He or she came up with two-thirds of a good musical phrase and then butchered the song by repeating said phrase ad nauseam).
Give me Brahms, Mahler, Bach, Mozart, Handel, Richard Strauss, Beethoven, you know, THAT crowd. :^) (I've got thousands of classical music CD's. That's where the money went!)
Rant over, Miss Amy, thank you!
