Man, I haven't watched this in about a decade. ....since Royce Gracie was winning every year.

Same here actually. Last one I saw was when Pete Williams kicked Mark Coleman in the head, and before that - Don Frye vs Tank Abbott.

The Ultimate Fighter TV show got me back into it.

Randy Colture vs Chuck Liddell

What are their disciplines?

Don't know exacts, but Colture is a ground and pound, and Liddell's a striker.

Most fighters today are hybrid and use multiple styles unlike the old days of Dan Severn and Royce Gracie.

So their are weight divisions now? In the first UFC fight I can remember (in the early 90s) a French Savate practitioner weighing it at no more than 190 lbs took on a 450+ lb Sumo wrestler, and the fight ended quickly with a huge kick to the big guy's face, breaking his nose and making a bloody mess of the ring. Gracie beat the Frenchman in the finals with his usual brilliance.

Do the divisions mimic boxing's, or do they differ slightly?

And how much is the PPV charge?

Last time I watched I got it for free. ....when satellite dishes were pretty much unregulated.

Lightweight - over 145 lbs. to 155 lbs.
Welterweight - over 155 lbs. to 170 lbs.
Middleweight - over 170 lbs. to 185 lbs.
Light Heavyweight - over 185 lbs. to 205 lbs.
Heavyweight - over 205 lbs. to 265 lbs.

There's now judges too. That really turned me off to the event for awhile.

I like the old days better, but the UFC's caved when John McStain and them started to run their big mouths to implement more rules.

First bout. Jason Miller - Muay-Thai/Ji-Jitsu vs Georges St Pierre who almost beat champ Matt Hughes in the last PPV.

So anyone over 265 lbs isn't allowed to compete?

Judges, eh? Kinda takes away the whole appeal.

No surprise that McCain stuck his nose in this and ruined a good thing.

The new fighters seems to have adapted to the new style now.

Miller's getting crushed. Three rounds. This one went to the judges, but is obvious.

2nd Fight - Middleweights.

Travis Lutter (Ji-Jitsu, also knock out punch power) vs Matt Lindland(wrestling silver medalist).

Weak fight. Lutter got caught in the 2nd round. Choked out in a Guillotine.

Dan Severin (From Coldwater, MI) inducted into UFC hall of fame.

Welterweight title shot next.

Frank Trigg challenging Matt Hughes.

Hughes/Trigg was a good match. Hughes gets out of a choke and chokes out Trigg after slamming him.

Travis Wieuu vs Babalu next.

The last match is next. Couture vs Lidell for the L. Heavyweight title.

All in all, it was a good slate IMO. The Hughes fight was the best.
