"That Chow must have been mistreated."

Nonsense. There are such things as dogs who naturally are nasty (or at least have some specific trigger). Not every dog who is "bad" ever had a bad owner - that's libel/slander when you have absolutely no proof.

Chow Chows have a reputation for being questionable. To think it's impossible for 1 dog of any kind to be bad sans poor treatment is to be in denial, which is dangerous both for innocent bystanders and to the breed in general.

Not "nonsense". I have raised Chows for 20 years. Where does your expertise come from??? I have known good and bad Chows. Ones that have been brought up right and well socialized have been wonderful animals. The Chows that were left outside most of the time, neglected, with little or no socialization, got to be quite aggressive and mean tempered. My comment was an assumption based on 20+ years of being exposed to Chows...not an accusation. Chows also have the reputation of being "questionable" because of their extreme protectiveness and guarding nature...but they still need to be raised by people that know the breed and the special attention they need from the time they are pups. Again, where does your "expertise" come from? I stand by my comment.
