Also, disable any firewalls as they may block the protocols that are needed for Windows networking stuff(mine does).Please...how to disable "firewall". Both computers are in the same workgroup already.

Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, and Network Connections.
Right click on the icon that represents your Local Area Connection and click Properties. Then you will see an advanced tab and you should see Windows Firewall and a Settings button. Click the settings button and make sure the firewall is disabled.
This is only for the native XP firewall that came with XP SP1, if there are other firewalls you may have I can't help ya there. Of course all of this is assuming that a firewall is the problem. It's also possible that your router isn't forwarding NETBIOS Traffic on your LAN.
