Thanks for the ping to the President's interview. I also got up at 3:00 this morning to watch the funeral of John Paul II. Such an amazing and inspiring event. I've never gotten the sensation that the television camera's were only capturing such a small part of the experience, as I did this morning. The best we will have are the attendee's accounts of the experience, such an enormous outpouring of love that it was.

Inspired by the President and Laura attending Mass last weekend, and though were are not Catholic, my sister and I went to 8 AM mass last Sunday, at the Catholic church where our Irish g-grandfather was baptised in 1864. Sadly, this parish is to be closed this spring, so we wanted to attend before that happened. This is one of the oldest parishes in St. Louis founded in 1824. I'm very thankful that I discovered the baptism records last year, as I would not have even known that church was special to my family, and would not have been able to attend mass there.

How fortunate you found those records! Husband is on his way home and we are going out to dinner. I will check in later this evening.
