I already tried to call the hospice, but they don't open until 8:00 am. I'll be calling them back in a few hours.
I really hope FReepers aren't so thrashed from the Schiavo fight, that we stop duking it out with the pro-deathers as we hear about this sort of thing happening more and more.
According to the press release this woman is being starved against her wishes (that were explicitly stated in her living will) by her granddaughter (who was not even named in her living will as power-of-attorney) because:
Grandmamma is old and I think it is time she went home to Jesus. She has glaucoma, and now this heart problem and who would want to live with disabilities like these?
I intend to check into this and find out what's going on at that hospice.
I'm starting to wonder if my living will is going to protect me against the state and greedy relatives.
