Yes I understand pity. Pity is a worthless emotion. People don't want to be pitied. There is an air of arrogance on the part of those who pity others.
Empathy is a much better emotion. You can stand in that persons shoes and see how it feels.
Not just the person you want to agree with either, but all parties involved.
