Message to bloggers and readers from Ken Mullinax, Nephew of Mae Magouirk.

Dear Friends,

My Mom, Mae Magouirk's sister, is now in the intensive care unit of the University of Alabama-Birmingham Medical Center. As you are aware, she had a prior aortic dissection dating from October 2002. With the help of the fine doctors at UAB and the good Lord,Mom was put back in good health.

Mae Magouirk also suffers from an aortic dissection and we want her to be taken to UAB Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama where a cardiovascular team is waiting to do their best to assist her.

Well, my mom's doctors told us to keep all bad news from her because of her aorta problem, but we had to tell her about her sister Mae Magouirk because Mom had to be at the Probate Judge's hearing last Monday, April 4 to help us in our attempt to save mae's life..

Well, the stress from this horror has hit home and tonight while I was speaking on the phone to Richard Bingham/Hyscience founder, Mom complained of tremendous pain...I hung up with Richard, took her to the emergency room...they ran all of the tests and Mom's dissection has now moved to the aortic artery which is in the right groin/leg area...the Illiyic?...

So this crazy surreal situation with Mom's sister Mae Magouirk having her nourishment and fluids dramatically withheld, despite the fact Mae is not terminal, comatose or in a vegetative state and against the covenants and spirit of her living will HAS NOW ADVERSELY AFFECTED MY MOM'S HEALTH.

Please keep Lonnie Ruth Mullinax in your prayers. She is in the ICU at the UAB Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Pass this on to any and all interested parties to show them that the consequences of state euthanasia hurt many more people than the one they are hastening toward death! Now Mom is affected and I need her so much now.

I am lost. I don't know what I would do if I lost her.

Prayers also for Lonnie Ruth Mullinax

"reread your own posts; it's quite apparent."

I know what I think.

You made the assertion of what those/my standards are so it shouldn't take much to explain what it is you're talking about, to explain just what it is YOU take them to be. More likely, you have no clue. ;-)

NEVER sign or authorize a Living Will! It's a potential death sentence on you!

She was vegetative, just not brain dead.(Terri)

besides the fact that she was neither - (excuse me if you are a doctor and examined Terri for a few weeks) - but, as to "brain dead/vegetative" - there's a lot of people walking around and talking - and posting - that seem to qualify for "brain dead/vegetative"

"If you have been following the thread please, what have we not covered yet?"

Has this been considered yet? Don't want to see anyone get into trouble for trying to break the law.

Hipaa -
"The Standards for Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information are designed to help guarantee privacy and confidentiality of patient medical records. These new Standards for Privacy are quite extensive. Healthcare providers, insurers, payors and employers should review this rule and it's requirements in great detail with the intent to update and replace any current internal guidelines in order to insure HIPAA compliance."

Lots of info here http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/hipaa/

Good; then we both know what to think. Your cumulative posts tell me what to think about your position, regardless of how you try to spin it otherwise....it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how little value you place on human life; how you taunt and mock those who don't hold your position; and your purpose on this thread is nothing more than to be disruptive.

"I, on the other hand, want everyone killed."

Ever hear people say "she's not dying"?

I thought everyone was dying...just at different rates? :-)

Am I Catholic? Did I agree or disagree with the Popes position?

"how little value you place on human life" Where do you think I stand on the death penalty? Where do you stand?

We need to make certain that congress finds out about this dear lady ASAP. They are still very angry about Terri, and there is a chance that they might actually take action to help our new friend.

I think you stand in the "playing games" position, typical of disruptors.

some side effect of Ativan: (and it would interesting to see the strength of the dosage. one of the side effects is also nausea and vomiting - and I can tell you from personal experience - the same with morphine. These would hasten dehydration)

"Side effects that you should report to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible: •confusion •depression •double vision or abnormal eye movements •hallucinations (seeing and hearing things that are not really there) •lightheadedness or fainting spells •mood changes, excitability or aggressive behavior •movement difficulty, staggering or jerky movements •muscle cramps •restlessness •tremors •weakness or tiredness Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your prescriber or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome): •constipation or diarrhea •difficulty sleeping, nightmares •dizziness, drowsiness, clumsiness, or unsteadiness; a "hangover" effect •headache •loss of memory •nausea, vomiting"

Along with the morphine - these would not only hasten dehydration but keep her "out of it" so's she can't communicate. Be a good area of investigation, i.e., what is "protocol" in Hospices

I would like to offer a special round of applause to all you politicians and liberals out there who didn't believe us when we said that Terri's case would open the door to the wholesale murder of the disabled and elderly.

Exactly. I've often thought this was going to give greedy relatives ideas about how to dispose of inconvenient family members, "legally".

He's appalled at what's happening ... said that last week he thot the whole thing with Terri was just an isolated case, and he's saying now that it could happen to anyone.

His mom is now in intensive care since 10 last night after finding out about her sister.

He's going into detail about the sequence of events ... I can't type fast enough to cover it all.

The hospice where his aunt is on the granddaughter's side, tipped her off about the other relatives intentions, so that she could go to court and get emergency guardianship.

There's truly something going on with a lot of hospices, I'm not saying all, but there's something terribly wrong.

I also remember reading somewhere that Mae has a sizable estate?

Can anyone remember where that was printed?

It would seem this is the age old "follow the money" -

If the granddaughter has POA on financial matters - she has a vested interest in gramma getting out of the way - and now that she's gone this far, is desperate to off her, for if not successful and gramma survives to learn what she has done - she can kiss her inheritance goodbye - and hopefully, get free room and board for many years in jail.
