Rivera can look forward to chants of "Who's your daddy?!!" whenever he takes the mound at Fenway Park.
...not to mention the next interation of the Curse of the A-Rod!
OWNED!
I think A-Rod had three chances to make a play on that ball. He could have turned a game ending double play, then he could have gotten Mueller at the plate, and finally he could have tagged Bellhorn as he ran past him!!
A-Rod seems to have a habit of choking. Since he joined the Yankees he has an anemic batting average with runners in scoring position.
The way he looks at it is, "Yeah but I'm the highest paid player in baseball so what do I care?".
;-D
He was exactly the same with the Rangers. He's their problem now.
Its a beautiful thing isn't it?

The Snakes started this against him in 2001.
Rivera is not the same pitcher he was two years ago. He had problems last year, and was also hurt, correct?<P.
The Yankees are in big trouble if Rivera can't be depended upon.
I am not sure if you are correct about the Yankees being in trouble if Rivera is no longer able to be the closer. They have a pretty good arm in Tom Gordon who could pick up that role. I also think that Rivera will be fine overall...its just the Red Sox who are in his head.
Right...relievers, when they lose it, tend to lose it very fast....Rivera was the Yankees' MVP, IMHO, the last decade...last night on the sports talk radio in NY..all the gossip was about how the so called "fans" had booed Rivera when he left the mound yesterday..I caught the highlights, and it was surprising, especially since these same cretins gace Giambi, an admitted cheater, a standing "O" on opening day..
Gordon has shown some good 'stuff, but Rivera has been THE goto guy for several years. I agree, the Red Sox are in his head, but he has struggled against other teams as well.
Mariano's ERA is 10.80..not quite as bad as the Met's Braden Looper, whose ERA is INFINITY..
LOL! I was wondering if Looper was throwing underhand...
Really..he came in in the 9th..gave up 2 HRs, and got no one out..ergo..ERA is INFINITE
Tom Gordon had a nice little run as a closer but if the Yankees have to rely on him against the Sox they are in trouble. It was Gordon who blew Game 5 last year even though Rivera got credited with the blown save.
