I agree with you about the nature of these farewell posts. There's just something about getting hundreds of total strangers to beg you not to leave that is appealing to people.

It isn't splitting off. Not sure how you reached that conclusion, unless you were part of that "group think" that preached "if you don't agree with us, STFU" or "Go back to DU you troll", merely because I was defending the rule of law and the Constitution.
