It's clear that you can't imagine a lot of things. I've never felt that the limits of your imagination were the parameters of what we normally construe as reality.

I stand corrected. The aliens could drop by on a whim for some buggery and occasional ungulate mutilation.

Perhaps you are missing great gaping galaxies of complexity in the arena we normally call reality.

As my moderately wise and very brilliant Mormon dissertation chair asserted when I challenged him about the different versions of the supposedly never altered Book of Mormon . . .

he asserted:

LIFE IS SO COMPLEX, JUST ABOUT ANY COCKAMAYMEE EXPLANATION WILL DO.

While I disagree theologically--he's right about the complexity.

Most of the puzzle pieces in this vast area I hold very loosely and await to see what God confirms.

Some things I've gotten from a believable enough close relative and some other trusted sources and/or a diverse enough range of sources that I hold some things more probable or even as tentative fact.

Besides, a fair amount seems to fit some Biblical assertions closely enough--especially regarding end times. One of New Mexico's Senators did a serious study of the cattle mutilations. Then tried to hush up the whole effort when he got too close to powers that be. I have a source I can begin to probe now for some details of that but I have to take it slow and easy. He's not a direct source and I don't want to get him into trouble. He's still well connected and active in the State in some serious ways though retired.

I realize deeply and from the beginning that I do NOT know for certain MOST of whatever in this vast subject area. But I also KNOW that the naysayers are worse off than I am.

And then there's the rigid, knee-jerk naysayers who don't seem to have a logical thought or bone in their body.
