Oh, let's see now. The ACLU sides with conservatives and traditional family values once in a blue moon now and that somehow makes them a mainstream civil rights group?
The ACLU has attacked everything decent and honorable in this country icluding, the flag, organized religion, people of faith, tradional family values, the 10 commandments, the pledge of allegiance, Christmas, nativity scenes and on and on and on.
I will repeat it again. The ACLU is the most dangerous, radical left wing subversive group in this country today.
Nice try, but don't try to piss down my collar and then tell me it is only raining.
All I said was that the ACLU wasn't the incarnation of the devil.
What have they done that doesn't have, somewhere, a rational (in the legal world of precedent) reason behind it? I'm not saying something that you agree with, but something that at least makes some theoretical sense.
Like this: The ACLU supported the right of Nazis to march in Skokie, IL. Now I really hate Nazis myself, but the argument was that once you set a precedent for denying the right of assembly and free speech, it's hard to control it and one day someone in power who YOU don't agree with might cite that case in denying you the right to protest something peacefully. So I'm saying I HATE NAZIS, but I can understand at least the reason they have for their position even if I don't agree with it. (which in this case I do)
thanks
