The whole article looks like an excuse for Chelsea's bad behavior.

Does anyone know if she's still being "protected" by our dollars?

1. It's the tabloid Globe.

2. If I had Chelsea's parents, I'd be tempted to keep my nose in the sauce as well.

Didn't we all start on a 6-figure salary by earning a 4-year humanities degree?

What a self-centered, indulgent, twit. A chip off the old blocks.

I feel sorry for the kid. I have no such pity for her parents.

I thought they hired a publicist and no one was permitted to print anything about the little heinous without his permission.

I'm crying a river over her situation.

She is drawing, what, a $200K per years salary and is set for life, whereas young enlisted troops are being paid next to nothing and they already have families that will be left behind.

The whole story is a barfer-- fabricated out of bits and pieces with unsourced "quotes."

The former first daughter's worries began when her father underwent quadruple-bypass surgery in September.

Then Ian, 25, decided to take a job in Iraq that began in January and will keep him there for several more months.

The last straw was a follow-up surgery in March to remove fluid and scar tissue from 58-year-old Bill Clinton's chest, which seemed to leave him looking 10 years older overnight.

"Chelsea is a troubled, scared soul right now, and her way of making it go away is by tossing down the cocktails," one of her Manhattan party pals tells GLOBE.

As recently as March 18, Chelsea got so loaded at the Big Apple hotspot Marquee, she had to be helped out of the place by two bouncers and the club owner--an undignified exit that made the local gossip column.

"She was there to celebrate two of her friends' birthdays," a second pal of Chelsea's tells GLOBE. "But she drank more than anyone else and got wasted--and that wasn't the first time!"

"Ian is working as a civilian for the new government in Iraq, and Chelsea knows he could be killed or kidnapped at any time," says a friend

Only if Hillary has her way will this happen

You're kidding? For or against it? He can't be a conservative and involved with that family.

She's had a serious makeover, hasn't she? She must have, she was such a butt-homely kid.

According to friends, just a few months ago Chelsea was a home-body who liked curling up beside Ian to watch a movie in their cozy apartment. But these days, she's more likely to be found with her girlfriends in Schiller's Liquor Bar on Rivington Street.

"Schiller's is where she meets her posse of girlfriends," the second pal says. "And when they get together and start doing shots--watch out!

"They make the rounds....Chelsea can really slug them back."

Pals describe Chelsea--now raking in $120,000 a year as a junior consultant at a Manhattan management firm--as a binge drinker who orders vodka shots called lemon drops between rounds when her friends aren't drinking fast enough for her.
