Prayer Thread for a Murderer.

Posted on 03/31/2005 2:58:44 PM PST by El_Doctor

We Must Pray for Micheal Schaivo....No matter how terrible the things that he have done are, we must turn the other cheek. He will eventually have to face what he did no matter how hard he tries to run from it. I pray that he will repent and atone for his sins. Jesus taught forgiveness and we must follow him.

I realize this is controversial. I had a similar situation in which the spouse fought bitterly to destroy our family, to end the life of my relative. Just like Micheal, she made the life of my grandparents and my relatives siblings a living hell. But we MUST forgive.

I Pray that Micheal will atone and repent and i hope you will pray with me

Well, i know you have good intentions with your post, but I honestly think now is not the time for us to focus on praying for Michael, but rather we pray that Michael will pay for what he has done. Personally, i have a hard time finding any compassion for that man right now. I may later on pray for him, but today i can't and won't.

You're right. This is the hardest part of being a Christian.

Absolutely!

II Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

They *all* need prayers in that case: Michael, her parents... the entire lot.

'We Must Pray For Michael Schiavo'

Uh, no we don't. The only thing I HAVE to pray for is for God's Will to be done, and for His Justice to be administered.

You might consider adding Felos and Greer.

I always say that traditional prayer added to each decade of the Rosary: "Oh, my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, and lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy."

Luke 17:10
10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

Lest we get up on our high horse too high...the words of Jesus himself.

God never said to forgive those who do not ask for it. He doesn't.

My prayers go out to Terri's family and our brave soldiers in Iraq and Afganistan and their families. Schaivo, Greer, and Felos aren't worthy of a second of my time.

I'm in total agreement with you. While I don't intend to lose sleep over Michael, I also do not intend to pray for him.

Everyone talks like this is the end. I just listened to the Shindlers lawyer, and really think she must continue Terri's cause; to find out if he did cause her condition. I've always been led to believe that there is no Statute of Limitation on murder. As far as I'm concerned a murder may have been committed today. Also, according to her lawyer, when confronted with the results of the bone scan and inconclusiveness of what caused Terri's condition, Judge Greer said it was interesting but not relevant. I understand where he was coming from, legally, but what about the morality of it? Judge Greer needs to be retired.

Sorry for my rant, but it's not been a good day.

Her "husband" also did not sin against any of us. It was not our law he broke. It is not for us to forgive.
However, the prayer request, as I read it, was that her "husband" would repent. Since Jesus told us in his word that he is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance, this is not an unreasonable request.

Michael opened a door that millions suffered and died to shut back in World War II. The entire concept of "Dasein Ohne Leben", "existence without life" was part of the Nazi regime's policies - that somehow it was OK to assume that those who could not speak for themselves, wanted to die.

He re-opened that door and to what end - so now he can marry his girlfriend. Terri's life was inconvenient to him, and thus, disposable. What horrors are to come based on this precedent. How many more will die?

I realise it is my duty as a Christian to forgive and pray for repentence. However, I would no more pray for his soul than I would that of Hitler or Heydrich. It's more a time to pray for the sweet soul of Terri, her parents and to swear upon all that is good and right and holy in the world that all efforts will be made to prevent this happening again. I suggest that Michael's soul is in the hands of God; while I cannot know what good he has done, the evil he has done leads me to think that he will be judged and found wanting.

Regards, Ivan

Salvation is wonderful, blessed, sweet and joyful...

Conviction is terrible, black, dark, sad, light is shined upon egos, pride is shown for the uglyness it truly is, misery......

I ask, Father all who are involved in this murder are brought to the end of themselves in the conviction that the Holy Spirit brings! Convict these people of sin, Lord.

Let them get so far down Lord, they only have one place to go and that is to You!

Make them realize that they will stand before the Final Judgement and will have to give an account of themselves to You Dear Lord!

Father, only You can make dead men live! And You tell us in Your Word we are DEAD in trespasses and sins! DEAD !!!!

Be pleased AllMighty Father to save Your people!!!!

Your will be done, Lord!

We honor and praise You!!!!
In Jesus Name!

Judge Greer needs a lot of things, 'retirement' being the least of them.

Sorry for my rant, but it's not been a good day.

No apology necessary my FRiend, I had to force myself into a self-imposed cable news blackout. All I need to know I can learn from FR and a few other websites.

I still don't see where it is for us to forgive. It was not my law he broke, but for those who do think so:

Matt 6:
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

--- Jesus Christ
