My eyes our opened...Rush is ignorant on this.Agreed. He's missing the point that we're talking about defending a basic Constitutional guarantee of life. What in GOD's name is so difficult to understand about that????
To: sheikdetailfeather
I agree with him there but I see him as sort of being part of that mooshy middle that he hates so. He is fencepost sitting instead of calling for action for a dying woman. This is down and dirty time, time for action.

Rush is FOS!
That last caller had it pegged and Rush did such a song and dance and spin routine I couldn't believe it!
Just what law would DCFS be violating by going in and getting Terri? None! They have the law on their side. The only thing the MIGHT be violating is a corrupt judge's order. By what authority does this judge get the power to go against the will of the people, as expressed through their legislators?

Rush: "Congress has the power to reign in these judges but ....do they have the guts? Only if a whole lot of people call them."
To: Marathoner
It is amazing how ignorant he is about the Constitution...I and many others will no longer be Rushbots...How could I have been deceived for so long. Everything that Rush is saying right now is a contradiction...amazing.

Oh yeah, just what America needs, a shootout between US Marshals and Florida cops.
Janet Reno had no problem with the possibility of a catastrophically violent confrontation. (see Waco)
I think both Governor and President Bush do have a problem with that scenario, however.

According to this thread, she violated a court order. That is against the law. If a local judge issued an order that his campaign appearances were canceled - should he follow that order if he has a big one coming up in 10 minutes?
If a local judge issued an order that you must kill your own mother in the next 15 minutes from when served the order, shuld Jeb Bush Obey that order?

I think he knows that won't happen. If I had to guess I would venture to infer that Limbaugh is so incredibly well connected, lets face it he has had both potus and Chaney on his show , who else can get them, that he has been told to stay out of this one from "on high".
This is a sad commentary about how the GOP treats it's base.
We are the ones that are with them all the time but they are rat/thinking us. The rats yack about how they love the blacks all the time they get 91% of their vote. Bubba and f'ing attend only black churches. But when the blacks come with their hat in their hands asking for special treatment they are invariably told to go away. We are being rat-em-blackened right now IMHO.
The theory by both parties is that neither we nor the blacks have anywhere to go, and they are basically right.

The point of myself and others on this thread has been that we can't bitch and moan about liberals not following court orders if we are going to do the same thing. Do you get that?
Here is what you don't get. What gives a judge the power to order anything that is unconstitutional? I understand that you don't want to answer my question, but what would have happened if Abraham Lincoln kowtowed to Chief Justice Taney when he ordered that all black people were not equal to white people?
What if today the Supreme Court should review
Dred Scott vs. Sanford at the request of the KKK and Robert Byrd and rule in the same manor as Taney?
What would you have President Bush do?
What do you think Clinton would have done?

And it was wrong, and we still hate her for it. We should hate either Bush just as much if they flaunted the law so brazenly. Since when do judicial findings equal "the law"?

Very few people want to live in Terri's condition, and if they don't have a living will to say so, too damned bad, they are dieing of their own stupidity and thoughtlessness. Reread your own post - you are saying that the presumption is that if you don't have it in writing that you want to live, you ought to die. That is not stupid or thoughtless, it is just plain evil.
