"Saving our members from themselves"

I to found this statement a bit over the top in a "state controlled" kind of way. She should have just left it at not posting articles period. I do think that this case has caused very harsh feelings between people who are on the the same side of right. I just feel its generally our fault that we have over the years allowed this to happen but we need people of generally like minds to come together. If we are to take our government back we need to be more involved, get more people involved and elect the right people. No easy chore!

I used to visit L comm quite frequently before FR and I find it quite amusing that they ask for contributions but will not allow you to contribute. This doesn't sound like "freedom" to me. I visit there not so often anymore. My heart is with Free Republic!

A forum is for open discussion as long as it does not get beligerent or obscene they should keep their noses out of it

Yeh, but. Never could 'discuss' anything at Lucianne anyway. Can anyone imagine a 'Buckhead' unmasking the deception at CBS over at Lcom?

It's a tough call. The Schiavo case raises just the sorts of question, moral and constitutional, that should be open for discussion.

It brings out such strong emotions, however, that such discussion becomes frequently impossible.

I've gotten flamed for posting Schiavo threads where, by posting an article, I'm prsesumed to endorse the content and share the authors opinion.

Still, I prefer the freedom of expression here on FR compared to the "Nanny State" at L.com.

Very well stated. It is in God's loving hands and He will turn any unfortunate tragedy and use it as a stepping stone for good.
Have a wonderful Resurrection Sunday.

That isnt open discussion and I agree with the Lucuanne site on this one, enough is enough.

Oh, you've had enough but Terri is still alive! Thanks for your support!

All I want is for Terri to have a drink of water by mouth if she can. It's heartbreaking and it's criminal that she can't! The reason the judge ruled no is because she may die if she drinks by mouth! Imagine!

It is because the threats of violence by ardent supporters of Terri's parents toward Michael and the courts could possibily expose websites to legal liability.

Is this true. Jim? Anyone?

Of course, with the out of control legal system that has been revealed for the corrupt mess it is, absolutely anything is possible.

BS...i'ts no different from here most are for re-insertion some are not. Basically everything has stayed civil. Sounds to me like lazy administration over there. No big deal though, people will find a new forum to discuss and Lucianne will lose members because of their stupid policies

It's sort of like placing death row prisoners on suicide watch isn't it?

I have almost quit posting on these threads. There is flame like quality that disallows discussion. It is like walking into a barn full of dry hay with a candle.

Who cares what they do at Lucianne? If I wanted to be at Lucianne, I'd be there.

Today of all days let us show our respect to Terri and her family by having a day of silence.
Use the energy to pray or be positive.

Just a thought. Be Blessed on this Blessed Resurrection Sunday.

"It is like walking into a barn full of dry hay with a candle."

It's infected the whole site.

FR is as ugly and hostile as I've seen it in over seven years.

I don't mean that in an accusatory way, it's just that that's how strongly moved folks are by the Schiavo issue.

Even "fun threads" quickly get hijacked.

There should continue to be threads about this horrendous situation in Florida. However, I would not advise FR to be a part of any threads about violence toward the man who is trying to kill Terri Schiavo, be it her ex husband de facto, or the judge in the case.

That gets us absolutely nowhere and we need this forum to fight the follow up battle after Terri's murder, for justice in the Land.

What do we do if FR were to be sued to high heaven, or crushed under FBI force?

I think the FR mods and Jim R. have been fairly good about taking off the violent whackjobs but keeping legitimate discussions up.

I think when and if people are thinking about taking upon the law by themselves via violence, they best take leave of FR, take a cold shower, walk around the block, and if that doesnt work, go sell that stuff on the militia sites.

I doubt it. Lucianne is a heavily monitored site. Probably the real reason is that nobody wants to work today because it's a holiday and they'd like to put the site on cruise control.

The Schiavo issue has become a "Princess Di" moment with All-Schiavo-All-The-Time. Normally talk radio and message boards avoid two issues, religion and abortions. The Schiavo incident has given a platform to vocal advocates of both issues. Joined by others who react to the humanity of this sad story, the din is palpable. Many of us resent the subjugation of other important issues.

God Bless you Terri in your hour of death

And here I thought it was only a few of us.

I clicked on to FR this morning and a sign plopped down in front of the screen that said ... "censored".

Well, it's certainly gotten belligerent, hasn't it? I don't understand why it's been permitted. It is possible to disagree with civility-- which is ordinarily the rule here.

I disagree with LCom staff and have stopped going oer there because of their attempt to shut us off from the news. If you don't like these threads, just don't click on them.
