Comments on the Schiavo story have now become repetitive, argumentative and increasingly ugly. Posters are losing their privileges for attacking and spamming. We feel we are serving our readers by posting articles but not allowing threads for comment. By doing this we save our members from themselves and preserve their ability to post.If subject is introduced on threads that are not about the Sciavo story they will be deleted.

You are a perfect illustration of why Lucianne made the decision.
She is right.
On the other hand, people are extremely upset, and if not allowed to express their opinions, surely that smacks of sweeping the entire mess under the rug because it's tiresome. Just a thought and not one I like. Human, though.
Trixie's Episcopalian. I've heard her talk about it.
If I wanted to be in a virtual prison camp for egomanical masochists, I'd design one in Gmax..
"Love, Palo"
How wonderful, someone who can safe me from myself ... How ironic here on Easter Sunday ... and for these many years I had thought only Jesus Christ could do that for me.
Am I still alive?
I miss Palo!
Trixie's great, but her site's boring.
Not easy to navigate, heavily edited and (in my mind at least) run by leather-clad dominatrices.
I don't care much for intimidation tactics either. It bothers me to see people on our side engage in the same thinking as is common with fringe groups on the left, jumping to false either/or conclusions that really do not characterize my point of view in the slightest.
I guess my way of dealing with it is to tell myself that it does not really matter what sort of vitriol they throw at me in their responses. I just try to be nice and to make logical points where I can. They tend to lighten up a bit when they notice that I'm not taking their bait.
I'm with you on that one, though - I usually only follow people that I agree with mentally, and I tend not to follow those that I feel forced to follow, even if I am inclined to agree with their goals. I think that it's better to avoid becoming part of the mob and risk becoming demonized than to join it and become a demon.
As long as you've been here that can't be the first time you've been called an "ilk" can it?
I don't consider you an ilk.
"and (in my mind at least) run by leather-clad dominatrices"...hmmm. I hadn't thought of it that way, but it could be I suppose.
Nonsense! We are smart enough to sort out what we read. I used to like Lucianne, but its bland and boring. Responding by #'s to aposter is treating us like fools. FR. is my daily necessity. Jim's overseeing is just right.
test
What's nonsense?? I agree 100%
Can you tell which one is the Lucianne.com staffer and which is the FreeRepublic Admin Monitor?
Trixie question!
That's Lucianne on the left, and one of her staff on the right...
Nevertheless, you were around during the "Elian Gonzales" threads? The one on five Easter Sunday's ago (to the day) when Elian was seized at gunpoint by Janet Reno and forceably returned to Communist Dictatorship? Now THAT was some discussion on FR.
By your tag line I'm guessing you're now on the east side of the Pacific?
