123! 123 Threads in three (3) days! What the heck is going on? I know this is a very important issue to a lot of people, and I too have very striong feelings, but Holy Mackerel! This is embarrassing. Just look at some of these headlines, threads, and vanities.

When I booted up the puter this morning, I was sickened by this thread: "Terri Bleeding From Eyes and Mouth". Would you want this for someone you know? Is this what we FReepers have become? No better than the sesationalistic lamestream press? I can hardly believe this is my beloved, cherished, respected FRee Republic.

This may even serve as a temporary OPUS, until she (unfortunatly) passes. Go ahead and flame me, I can take it, but I hope I made a couple of you stop and think.

I don't think this is anyway similiar to what ocurred in post-Weimar Republic Germany. There seems to be alot of villification going on about the husband. Is this really justified? I'm not an expert on this case, but, I'm left wondering why the parents raised a girl with such low self-esteem that she felt she had to starve herself to look beautiful and why they didn't try to gain guardianship earlier in the tragedy.

I'm also puzzled that so many people call this government-sponsored murder because a judge has ordered her feeding tube removed - does this mean the radical Left is justified in criticizing the Bush Administration for ordering military action in which civilians have lost their lives? From what I've seen on here people are using the same logic the lefties use on Iraq. Insert Iraqi Citizen for Terry and George Bush for Radical Judges and you have the exact same argument.

I agree with you clyde. People are becoming completely irrational and illogical about this. I have been through the life support withdrawal with two relatives and it was peaceful, as the doctors say.

Last week a chemical plant blew up in Texas City killing 15 people. My brother works there and I couldn't find a story on it for hours and finally posted one!

I feel great sorrow for Terri and her family but the President and his brother are not the ones responsible for this situation. It has been an ongoing one for 15 years.

The person to blame is Michael Schiavo for not handing over custody to the Schindlers.

I was just a bit concerned about the craziness of some of the threads I have seen in the last few days. Not to be redundant, but it just cheapens the importance of the issue when whacky accusations are flying.

Sorry, but it sounds like you're shifting your story around. In your initial vanity, you said nothing about the types of comments that Freepers have made in their replies to the threads, but lately in this thread that seems to be your focus now. All you objected to at the beginning was that there were too many threads (and I don't believe for a second that that inhibited people from getting their news on other matters), and that someone actually had the gall to state the physical effects of her starvation and dehydration. There is nothing wrong with either of those two things. And it's not going to fly for you now to simply turn around and say, "Oh, what I was really objecting to was the whacky accusations." It just isn't coming across as credible.

What we're witnessing isn't even euthanasia, which is described by Merriam-Webster dictionary as the act or practice of killing or permitting the death of hopelessly sick or injured individuals (as persons or domestic animals) in a relatively painless way for reasons of mercy.

Terri is dying of starvation - a slow, torturous death... if she's not, then we should see the video of her dying peacefully. However, we'll never see it because the truth will disrupt the feeling of peace and comfort of those who want her dead.
