George Bush and governing by polls(vanity)

Posted on 03/25/2005 10:36:16 AM PST by GoCocks

I need some examples of how George Bush doesn't govern by polls. I know Bush took many stands during the election, that were opposite of what polling suggested be done.

1)Strategic oil reserve should be tapped according to Americans 2)Social Security Reform wasn't a big concern in polling

I know there are many other examples... I just can't think of them right now.

Absolutely nobody wanted the Prescription Medicare Bill but he passed it anyway.

There are no official rules at FR stating that posts must make a lick of sense, but common politeness dictates that you should do so....

Oh, I can read the words just fine. I simply have no idea what you're trying to say. Are you saying that W does, or does not govern by polls?

I belive he does not govern by polls to the extent that most Presidents do. I'm in an argument with a dem on another board. The others understood my post just fine. I'm sorry I didn't write it in essay form, but I thought I got the gist across just fine.

The majority of polls show that Americans are against illegal immigration and want the Mexican border secured.

Bush is determined to get as many illegals as possible into our country and has zero interest in protecting our country's borders, even though we're supposedly at War On Terror.

BTW, I think Spurrier is doing a fantastic job in Columbia, kicking out all of Holtz's trash players.

See, providing a little bit of context makes all the difference... Now we understand what you're looking for, and why.

We're very happy here. No more qb draws or middle school offensive schemes. USC lucked out in nabbing Spurrier. It's going to be nice to be on the giving end of a blowout for once, after so many years of Spurrier beating us 60-7.

Spurrier can't get too much credit for booting all these players off the team though. He had no option with most of them, these players kicked themselves off.

'He had no option with most of them, these players kicked themselves off."

I disagree- Holtz would've given them another chance. Results of that policy were best-seen in the Clemson game.

Both brothers and my dad are Carolina alumni. Hell, I've been to as many Cock games as I have my own alumnus (Ga Tech). I rate the Williams-Brice tailgating experience highly and don't know how it could be done much better.

"Next year" may have finally arrived!!

P.S. Just beat UGA, please.

"Some" meaning "you." Congratulations on your penetrating intellect. As for me, I guess I'm too stupid to guess at a meaning.... I'd rather have the post state it straight out.
