They went above and beyond to get a law passed through Congress - it appears now at great political cost. The Governor of Florida is being blamed for all happening in Florida right now - he has done everything but send in state troopers. I am totally against that. We are not a police state. President Bush signed a bill at 2:00 am cutting a vaction short. Just what have the Democrats done for Terri to sway you to their side?

I have stated before that I am a lone citizen. I have written letters, made phone calls, exchanged information and prayed. I will not go down to Florida armed to kidnap Ms. Schiavo. We are a nation based on the rule of law. Don't like the laws vote out the politicians who make the laws. What is to be gained by boycotting the Republican party? Again, I ask what have the Democrats done for Terri to sway you to their side?

Nonsense. We are a year and a half from the next election. Not one voter in 50 will even remember this, much less have their vote swayed by it.

What are the police for? I mean, literally. This is what I asked before. Preventing innocent people from being killed is just about the most basic function that justifies the existence of government at all. What good is a government that not only fails to prevent it, but actively participates?

You assume that the courts have absolute power. Thus, you admit defeat before you start. Admit it -- deep down, you really believe that 'living document' crap; that men become gods when they put on black robes, and that the laws mean whatever they say. You'd put Dred Scott in chains.
Posturing about working "within the law" is absurd when the judiciary is allowed to simply cancel any laws they don't like, and make up their own. It's an oligarchy, not a republic. And you are gladly bowing down before the Constitution's domestic enemies.

Pointless, when the legislature has had its lawmaking power cancelled by the courts. Why would one impotent legislator be better than another?
