Is Congress going to pass individual laws for each person who is in a persistent vegetative state and is being fed by tube and has no living will? I think not. When Congress starts CHOOSING, as it has done here, who it will help, it is also, by definition, choosing not to assist others.

This is an EXTRAORDINARY case. People in vegetative states get removed from life support every day with no fanfare. Why? Because USUALLY all parties are in agreement about their loved-ones wishes.
In this case we have half the family saying "WHOA... Thats not what she wanted" AND hubby acting like a creep.
That being said, YES... I would like the various state legislatures to enact laws that say "we will NOT remove life support UNLESS there is a written document OR all family members of a certain degree (Spouses and Parents/ and or adult children) AGREE.
