I have not followed the facts of this poor lady's plight. Perhaps, I should not comment at all. However; the question that is being asked is who is the villain, and I do have some thoughts about the question. Making the assumption that there is a villain is to assume that somebody here is doing or has done something wrong, and done so deliberately. Where are the facts in evidence that would substantiate this finding? My guess is that nobody here has the wisdom of God to know whether there is anybody home in the mind of Terri Schiavo, and if there isn't, nobody but God would seem to know what Terri would have wanted if she were to lapse into her present apparent state.

There are certainly some moral questions that Terri's plight raise and some legal questions as well. As responsible adults, we should make known our wishes to our loved ones and give some thought to relieving our loved ones of the burden of making the decisions that they might be called upon to make by leaving notarized written instructions in a safe place. I certainly don't want the state involved in making this decision for me in any way. I want my loved ones to make it in the event that I haven't. The plight of adults in Terri's position is completely different from that of minor children where the state could end up playing a part. But even here, every family has a moral obligation to provide for their children in every way possible. The state can never replace what family members can provide.

I would remind those of you who are beside yourselves over the court's decision that there is another judge and we are about to celebrate His greatest triumph. If Terri dies, have a little faith that she will be in a better place in a better state than she finds herself now.

The fact a statement is original as apposed to a quote of someone else's idea has no bearing on the truth of it... I made no representation that I was quoting others... I was stating my opinion just like you are

Your response is the very definition of an ad hominem attack (you attack the person making the statement not the truth of it)

But then by your own logic who are your sources in your response to me.... because any original opinion by you must be equally irrelevant

Not the case at all. My brother and sil weren't living together at the time of the accident. My SIL stuck my brother in a horrible nursing home where he got bed sores and lost tons of weight. My mother took her to court to try and get my brother away from her to get him some therapy. The judge didn't care how she was treating my brother. Once my SIL got the money she wanted then she did the decent thing and turned him over to my mother so she could divorce him. Sadly, by that time it was to late for therapy to do much good. Haven't talked to her since and don't care to.

As for your last sentence I'm not exactly sure what you mean but if you mean why aren't we scrutinizing the parents like we are the husband. I guess it's because they aren't trying to kill her.

As a good conservative I thought we were fighting for limited government and privacy rights.

That's not conservative. What this case will lead to, or can lead to, is a day when anyone that is a burden will be judged to be better off dead.

The conservative view of government is that it will protect life. Limited government does not mean no government.

I'd call this type of conservative hypocritical.

You would be misusing the term if you did. Wrong, perhaps. Inconsistent, perhaps. But hypocritical, no.

Yes, you're right, it was a bad choice of words.

It's big government to step in and save a life that is being taken under very questionable circumstances?

I bet you can see what you had for lunch this afternoon, with about 3/4 of it's journey completed.

BTW John Gibson is RIGHT. Gov. Bush NEEDS to storm the hospice and rescue Terri. Restore her food and water and give her a chance at LIFE.

Damn right!!

Did it ever occur to you that it is the government that is killing her? If that isn't government entering a persons life I don't know what is.

"Am I wrong?"

You are so wrong, that you are seemingly inable to even ask the right questions.
