They were talking about difference types of people NOT people whose spirit left fifteen years ago. And you seem to be unaware that NO society pours such vast resources into hopeless cases as has been done in this one.
Twenty five yrs ago this would not even be an issue and Terri would have died quickly. Now we artificially prolong these deaths.
You know nothing of me or my beliefs about life. But life without a spirit or consciousness is not the life a human desires. Would you want such an existence? Would you want to bankrupt your family or bog in down in hopeless causes when there is nothing it can do to make you well?
Are you really that selfish?
So what of those people who come out of these states 10, 15, even 20 years later? By your logic, they would all be dead.
Oh, and by the very act of you breathing, you are artificially prolonging YOUR death too.
Who are YOU to say who to kill and who to save?
But whose fault is it that Terri Schiavo's mother doesn't have access? Then to suggest his mistress cares more for Terri than her own mother? That would infuriate me if I were a member of that family, to tell you the truth.
My God is a loving God. No Christian should fear death. It's a good place and with His will I'll walk along side of Angels someday. I too don't understand people who don't want Terri's wishes to followed and for her to go to a better place. I pray for her will and God's will to be done.
It must be nice to be omniscient. Can you tell me how my dog is feeling while you are at it?
>> Your disgust of life is laughable.
It is people as yourself who find no value in life unless it meets your ... oh never mind .....<<
I respect life enough to realize that what Terri has isn't a life. Keeping her husk functioning while her brain liquifies is a cruel mockery of life.
You assume that is what is happening, since no testing has been done for a decade - who knows.
How about those of us who are absolutely not on MS's side, and who are not "pro-death", but who don't mind that the eternal part of Terri will soon be released from the horrific prison that her own body has been for 15 years? I pray that her parents, who spent so many years of their lives desperately searching and angry, will get some kind of peace in their hearts.
How is this considered Due process. I don't ever recall Terri being asked if she wants to live or not. I don't ever recall her testifying in court - Just two peoples opinion of what she would want (Husband and Parents). No person shall be deprived of life liberty or property without due process of law. Was Terri ever able to state her case - NO. Thus, the government, and certainly not the least democratic branch (judiciary), cannot order her death.
"No person shall be deprived of life liberty or property without due process of law. Was Terri ever able to state her case - NO"
I have seen no evidence - and more importantly, neither have the authories - that Terri either has a case to make or is able to state it.
Yes; your dog wants steak.
