This a.m., I have found a Harley Davidson motorcycle on my ebay account for sale which I do NOT own!
I don't know how it happened and am in the process of contacting ebay. Any other ebay users need to check accounts immediately! I have no idea as to whom the motorcycle belongs or how to find out as my personal information is still on the account. Anyone else having problems?
(Excerpt) Read more at ebay.com ...
This is NOT chat!!!!!!!!! This is breaking news! There is an honest to God Harley Davidson motorcylce listed on my account for sale which I did NOT post! You heard it here on FR first! Fix the category!
Somone may have hacked your ID and password. I had a problem with mine when I got an email telling me to update my info or else I'd lose my ID. Unfortunately, it was one of those fake emails where they record your keystrokes, and when I logged in to verify my info they stole my password. Something similar may have happened to you.
What's the starting bid?
Does it have a low reserve?
(Seriously, good luck in getting this straightened out.)
However, I sure wish that %&% Fender Amp I won and paid for a week ago would ship!
(someone's gonna get a baaaad feedback comment)
Any email from ebay should be forwared to spoof@ebay.com.
Any email from paypal should be forwarded to spoof@paypal.com.
spoof@msn.com
spoof@microsoft.com
I wouldn't be suprised if Jim didn't have spoof@fr.com
At any rate, ebay and paypal actively chase phishers and shut them down. I have had 2 phishing letters this week on my ebay account. Never opened them, just forwarded them.
Then log out fully, login again using the new password.
Then delete the item for auction, report the fraud to ebay via their "Security Center"
If you had credit cards tied in to that account, you should assume that they have been compromised.
Didn't fall for that. I don't believe my account was hacked. I think ebay has a software problem.
