A local television legend is being remembered Sunday.
Gus Bernier, better known as "Uncle Gus," is one of the most famous and best known names in WMUR-TV history.
Bernier passed away at his home in Hawaii Saturday, leaving behind a legacy many still cherish.
In 1959, Bernier started what would become a legendary children's television show in new Hampshire called "The Uncle Gus Show."
Bernier, who was sometimes weatherman and sometimes a newsman, was asked to host a cartoon segment that kids loved and was a staple in the 60s and 70s, capturing the imaginations of children with simple games.
Memorial and funeral services will take place this week in Hawaii.
