It appears that Terri Schiavo is going to be starved and dehydrated. I don't see how it going to be stopped short of a kidnapping to save her life.
If we are to believe sworn affidavits, Michael Schiavo denied his beloved wife rehab, speech, and occupational therapy. Terri actually was able to drink from a baby bottle and ate pudding and jello. He threatened to fire a nurse if she got nourishment from anything but the feeding tube?
Why just the feeding tube? Because he could have that pulled and starve her to death. He had no interest in seeing that she learn to eat again.
A nurse has said that Terri was able to say "mommy," "help me," "hi," and express when she was in pain.
Terri is also being denied communion.
Michael thinks it is over when he has managed to starve and dehydrate her to death? No, Michael, I don't think so.
There will be a wrongful death suit filed of perhaps $20 million. The evidence will come out about the denial of rehab. Her broken bones will be investigated. Ultimately, Michael, some of the truth is going to see the light of day. You are not going to get away with it. Not in this life. Not in the next.
Just think, no alimony or splitting up assets. Instead whack your spouse on the side of the head, testify that he/she fell off a ladder, pull the plug (Courts now allow it.), and you're a free person.
Aren't laws wonderful?
:-)
Correction?
"...Michael's attorney wants it held without removing the feeding tube. It looks like they are trying to run out the clock. That is disgusting."
Michael's attorney wants it held without RE-INSERTING the feeding tube?
I've read in a couple of newspapers that her good friend (can't recall the name) had stated that Terri was having a really hard time with the marriage. Apparently her mom had stated the same thing.
I just found this on a website which lists Florida state divorce laws..."LEGAL GROUNDS FOR DISSOLUTION OF MARRIAGE: No-Fault: Irretrievable breakdown of the marriage. [Florida Statutes Annotated; Chapter 61.052].
General: Mental incapacity for at least 3 years. [Florida Statutes Annotated; Chapter 61.052].

I think that according to this, Terri qualifies.
I hope so, every Judge who is likewise defrocked should be subjec to public and constant ridicule and embarassment.
These people need to be the best of the best, not the cream of the crap like we have now.
WHERE DEEJAY?????
You read so many things online (uh huh), but just can't manage to cite a URL...
Strange, very strange.

That probably has something to do with the fact that "she's not responsive". Convenient, eh?
It is my understanding that MS doesn't want a divorce. But that is just hearsay that I read on FR. I have no source to confirm this.
Of course. About 19 judges have looked at ALL evidence presented.
If there was an ounce of merit to any of the accusations lodged against MS, at least one judge would have taken action, don't ya think?
"She's not suffering. She's heavily medicated. This is the kind of crap that frosts me."
And just what is your source?
AP reporting that Terri's parents are pleading for a speedy determination to allow the re-insertion of the feeding tube from the 11th....as she is fading fast. (source---Fox News)
"Of course. About 19 judges have looked at ALL evidence presented. "
Judges beyond the trial court (that may not be the right name, but I mean the initial filing court) can only look at the evidence accepted into evidence by the trial judge. If he/she did not admit it, it can't be reviewed.

There is no merit to any of them.
You think all those judges don't know about MS and a girlfriend w/children?
Give me a freakin' break.
Do you really believe our health system is so cold that it would allow ANYONE to die an agonizing death when it's in their control? My father died like that, they gave him morphine and it speeds it up.
A good troll answer - answer, but offer no verifiable evidence.

Stop with the troll bit. How old are you? 10.

I certainly would have thought they'd have learned the definition of "conflict of interest" in law school.
"Hurry up judge and kill my wife, so me and my shack-up honey can get married"
Repost:
Hildy, I posted to you a few days ago something that you said on another thread. You never got back to me (which is completely understandable, considering all FReepers' difficulties these days in keeping track of our ping histories,) but I would like to ask you about it. You wrote this with regards to Terri:
"I'm talking about a woman who is legally brain dead."
Is this fact?
No not suggesting or recommending anything at all... So much for a strong 'sanctity of life' stance. You are clearly stating in the second sentence you could condone the death of a gentleman that has done nothing to you or your family. What should the father do? Take the law into his own hands?
Of course I've seen worse said about this poor judge. He either rules by the rule of law, as 'conservatives' demand, or he is an activist judge and legislates from the bench, which 'conservatives' rail against. The poor man has been kicked out of his church and ostracized by the community. What in the heck did you want him to do? Create precedent and overturn centuries of common law, not to mention the absolute strain this whining to the national government has put on the Constitution. I really hope when this is said and done, whatever happens, Republicans realize the vitriol they have stated these past few days against those conservatives that have an opinion different from theirs and some of the absolutely idiotic things they've spouted in the current rush of emotions.
