It appears that Terri Schiavo is going to be starved and dehydrated. I don't see how it going to be stopped short of a kidnapping to save her life.
If we are to believe sworn affidavits, Michael Schiavo denied his beloved wife rehab, speech, and occupational therapy. Terri actually was able to drink from a baby bottle and ate pudding and jello. He threatened to fire a nurse if she got nourishment from anything but the feeding tube?
Why just the feeding tube? Because he could have that pulled and starve her to death. He had no interest in seeing that she learn to eat again.
A nurse has said that Terri was able to say "mommy," "help me," "hi," and express when she was in pain.
Terri is also being denied communion.
Michael thinks it is over when he has managed to starve and dehydrate her to death? No, Michael, I don't think so.
There will be a wrongful death suit filed of perhaps $20 million. The evidence will come out about the denial of rehab. Her broken bones will be investigated. Ultimately, Michael, some of the truth is going to see the light of day. You are not going to get away with it. Not in this life. Not in the next.
Not your fault. I know my nic can confuse.
He also said Michael loved Terri and she had excellent care all these years.
I must admit that I don't know enough to tell you that they looked at all the evidence. I would like to be 100% sure before she dies. This could be a seminal moment in the culture of death.
I think we'd have a legitimate shot at proving number 243 in a court of law. Particulary if we saw her head do a 360 spin. :)
>" I know that you all love to characterize people who don't agree with you that way, but it's completely disengenuous"<
Au contraire. I have read numerous comments by on this forum who argue on behalf of Mr. Schiavo's rights as a husband.
>"Perhaps if you all stopped condemming people just because they don't agree with you word for word, there really could be legitimate discussion of this case."<
-Well then, fire away, FRiend. But you still haven't answered the question:
Who is Mr. Schiavo more beholden to-
His invalid wife Terry Schiavo, or his fiancee Jodi Centonze, whom he lives with, and has fathered two children?
How can a man represent the best wishes of a wife, when he lives with another woman who he is fathering children with?
Now there is the discussion. If you take that as a personal condemnation, then you didn't read my post as it was intended.
I know I'm late in the game coming to this thread but...WHAT is going on on this forum?
Has everyone lost their collective minds?
Yes, when you demean others and discount their opinions, it should hurt. That indicates a conscience.
Doug, If you don't know enough of the story, why are you so quick and full of hate enough to hang Michael Schiavo? Please have the mod delete your last sentence. I'm asking you nicely. For you own sake as well.
not one bedsore in 15 years. As someone who takes care of a bedridden person, I can tell you that's quite a feat!
Not everyone...just the really loud, obnoxious ones!!!!
Why would I delete that sentence? I believe we all answer to God.
Yes.
Did any of these nurses testify in any case?
Judges have great latitude in what they will hear.
Still, being ruled on poorly in a separate case, assuming this was heard, does not negate it being used in separate cases which may not be as porrly adjudicated.
At this point in time, he's accountable to the laws of this land.
LOL! Sheesh, I come home from running last minute errands and this is what I come back to. This is getting ridiculous.
Doug, if something were to happen to Mr. Schiavo, and I pray it doesn't, I just don't want to see you or FR dragged into it. We are a public forum and we do have some responsibility.

Wait one second...Where did you get this? Michael was NEVER awarded $600,000. He was awarded $300,000 for loss of consortium (and he got that whether or not terri lived or died) and $700,000 went into a trust for Terri's care. Please name your source.
The case was appealed all the way through the State and Federal courts. If no appellate court found cause for overturning Greer's decision, then there was no problem with the adjucation of the case. That's why appeals exist, to test the adjudication of cases. What you propose is to retry the case with new witnesses. That's another ballgame altogether, and was the premise behind the Federal lesiglation over the weekend. Courts are loath to get into this kind of stuff, because it basically creates an atmosphere of having trials until a desirable outcome is produced. I really can't blame the courts for feeling that way.
Most telling that within 3 months of receiving the settlement, MS decides to withhold treatment.
Do you suppose had he told the court he intended to deny Terri treatment, that he would not have gotten a dime?
