You guys are up early this morning.

I'm not sure how Mandy feels about the western saddle. We bought the one she picked out, brought it home, saddled up Winnie (it fit her fine) and she rode around in it, with a scowl on her face. You really can't compare that saddle with the custom english one she usually uses. The western one is a bit of a cheapie so it's not going to feel nearly as nice. I just wanted her to have it for trails.

It probably feels stiff to her. She'll get used to it. It's just a change.

Do you have a round up club in your area? If so find out when they have playdays and take Mandy to one. I have yet to find a kid who likes to ride, who doesn't like those events.

I'm not promoting western only, but I think it's good for kids especially to get a true taste of both. Makes them better riders, IMO.

Maybe it will help her get more acustomed to the saddle.

Funny thing tho, if/when, I'd ever get an English saddle (the type Hair or Frog uses) it would be for trail riding. I'm curious as to why you want her in a western saddle for trails?

Becky
