Thankyou for such kind words. I am keeping good cheer right now, browsing real estate. I have seen some beautiful properties all within our price range. I just sent deaconjim details about a place that has a 3500sqft barn!
The kids are drawing and coloring and generally having a good time. As it rained yesterday afternoon and evening, i am waiting till it dries out a bit and will then let them play outside and in the pool. It is nice and warm here.
Deaconjim is pulling a 7-7 shift today, which will mean he is here this evening. I think i am going to cook him something special.
How is your latest foal doing? Have you managed to get close or is Mom still keeping you at bay?
If the weather holds, I am going to give Sugar a bath later on, should be interesting! Whenever she is clean, she will go directly to the nearest dirt and roll. I need to trim and brush her mane too and we are desperate for the new farrier to return our calls!

3500 sq ft barn - wouldn't that be nice. That's almost three times the size of ours. When we had it built, we couldn't conceive needing one larger than we have - 'course we only had three horses then.

It's finally getting warm enough here to give baths :) amazing how dirty horses can get over the winter. They still get brushed so it's mindblowing to watch all the black water run off of white horses.

Newest baby is doing great and her mom decided we were okay and not likely to kill the child about day two. She still keeps a close eye on strangers though. The little girl is a pill, kicking her mom, getting under foot, generally being a real pest. Mares sure do have a lot of tolerance.

I so wish I had known about home schooling when my son was young. I think it's a great concept and so much better for the kids. I'm anxious to see how it goes.

Hope you have a good evening with husband home early for once :)

If you ever find a farrier that returns calls, hang on to him! :~D

If you keep Sugar tied or busy until she is completely dry, sometimes they don't roll right away ;~D I don't know what it is about white horses, they seem to try very hard to stay dirty... maybe they are always seeking camouflage.
