I am just not good with needles. I actually passed out when I had to have an IV put in my hand.

Oh. Well let ecurbh or the vet do it then. Passing out under a horse isn't a good thing:') OSHA has people rules regarding not re- capping needles anymore. There is a brand out now that retracts the needle while in the skin. I saw them at a rep exhibit. I expect before too long they may have injectable ones too.

Oh my:), well better leave it to the vet then. I was pretty leary the first time I had to do it,and it was a have too situation. Antibiotics everyday for a week. I wasn't hauling the horse to the vet everyday for that.

Anyway, I remember, I stuck it in and jumped back gasping for breath saying "oh, oh, oh", :) the horse just kind of turned and looked at me like "what??" with this syringe hangin off his neck:) I didn't know to stick the needle in then attach the syringe. Knock on wood, I've never had a horse do much more then toss it's head up once, when I've given shots.
