What I do is to let the stock tank overflow so that the area around it is wet, and then when they come to drink it wets their feet.
My farrier approved, said it was a good practice.
When I put Hooflex on them, I really plaster it on around the corona band, so that during the day it gradually soaks down into the hoof.
I have only heard about heat founder. But you know what, it just occured to me, what I meant was heat Colic!
Sorry; heat colic, not founder.
Yes, corn oil is great. I buy huge jugs of the cheapest kind. I think it helps the hooves.
But keeping the area around their water tank or tub or whatever wet, makes it messy to clean hooves but it's good for their feet in a hot, dry climate.

I used the paste on the hooves . It kept the outside shiny but they still cracked. My trainer likes it though. It just didn't work on mine. It gets so dry around here that in the summer, no wait, already I have to wet to clean. It's even worse when they get into mud. After it dries, it's like concrete. Iworry about fungus when it's wet and they are walking in wet a lot too. Do you have problems keeping yours clean, this way?
Tuffy, my trainer said 101 normal. I'm looking in my book and it says 99-100.5 so I guess that's close to high normal. I took SLs today and it was 99.2 and I was ready to throw her blanket on:') I guess that is good, huh?
Help me with the pulse though. I felt all of her feet and all felt "normal" I can't find the pulse though. I felt on all sides down to the pastern. I thought I had it once but it was mine. Can you draw it?
