*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Is the Freestyle another truck? My husband traded in his Yukon and got an Excursion. He complained about that Yukon nonstop.

I think this is the last year they're making them. Yes, that makes 2. Mine's in the shop right now, I was travelling down the highway the other day and it quit on me for a second. Just boom, everything went off then came right back on. It was bizarre.

I don't really know. Maybe because I've been here longer and they know I'm not a troll. Just be serious on the serious threads and silly on the silly ones. The Smokey Backroom might be a good place to start but don't do it, yet.

Glad you aren't sore this morning Becky... I wondered if it would catch up to you today.... good going.

Fixin to be hot again today... I think we're going to do horse baths and clipping... I think Bay has a loose shoe in the back... I heard it tinking funny at breakfast, but I haven't looked at it yet.

I am not real familiar with shrubs. I planted some nandina this spring. One Sat. when Mack and I went out on the motorcycle we drove around some of the older big rich neighborhoods in Tulsa, and I saw some tree arrangements that were so pretty, and am trying that. I planted a Japanese Red Maple and a Dogwood. I need one more dogwood but it will have to wait till next year. I have one rose bush, that is suppose to be a climber on my fence around the patio garden. and I have 2 Rose of Sharon bushes in the flower bed in front of the house, that is where the maple and dogwood are too. I planted them last year so they are not real big, and did not bloom last year. They have grown quit a bit this spring, so I'm hoping to get some blooms.

My day lillies bloomed this week, and the rest of the garden is growing good now that we started getting some warmer sunnier days. I didn't get the trellis in the pictures because there really isn't alot to see yet, but my morning glories are finally growing, and are about 1/4 of the way up on one side.

I think it's going to be a farily nice day here. I'm going to ride Harley in a little while. Mack had to go do a job this morning.

I'm testing the new batteries:) So far doing very well, I've taken about 8-9 pictures, and loaded them. I want to take the camera with me on the ride Mon. I think there is going to be quite a few people there. Should make for some interesting pictures:)

I haven't mentioned lately the lady up the road with the POA's, She got another one. She was having trouble riding it, altho it is suppose to be broke. Beth has been helping her. She is suppose to go on this ride, That could be very interesting. From what Beth has told me the lady is pretty scared. I guess the horse just won't move for her, and she is afraid to make it move. How she expects to keep up on this ride Mon. is beyond me, but it will interesting to watch.

I just got Harley reshoed yesterday, Rusty is due, but I'll have to get him when I get back from TX. Doctoring Belle drained my funds. I'm not riding him much anyway, so it won't hurt him to go a little over schedule.

The SPCA in Mckinney has some rescued horses that are up for adoption, $300 for horses and $200 for ponies.

Very good... You should be able to take many many pictures between batteries. I take 60 or so some outings, and the battery won't be want stops me, it would be that I filled up the card.

Bay never gets loose shoes, and he's not overdue, Marc is scheduled a this coming friday..... but I think he has one now. Not bad, it just sounded funny.
