This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Ha, well, you're kind. :-) I would love to do work with ponies, but I'll have to keep that on the side.
No, I was refering to your post about "pony parties" at your stable:')
Looks great:)
I think Bay is looking at it thinking "Ah Oh, I think this means we're going back to work:)"
Becky
You going to be able to sleep tonight? That time you went with your friend you said you didn't sleep much because of anticipation.
Becky
I'm assuming you are out packing the tack room, or practice loading your horses.
How did your truck handle pulling it?
Becky
HA! Sorry, it's late and my brain isn't functioning. Yeah, I'll be doing pony parties if she needs me to. I used to do them all the time, so I figured that I would make myself useful if she needed me.
No - we weren't doing anything nearly that exciting... merely cleaning stalls and putting horses to bed. Though we did walk out and stand in it for awhile in the rain ;~D
We'll pack it up in the morning.
I'm tired but excited, making lists in my head of things to not forget. Like a padlock for the tack room door. And water... and some fly spray and the brushes and a first aid kit.... and... ;~D
Oh,,, well I slept alot this afternoon. Had a low sugar episoide. But now I'm wide awake.
I'm loading a few pictures I took today down at the kids place. I was going to take alot more, and the batteries went down. But I got a few of the veiw across thier pasture from Charlies yard. Charlie and Jenny live on a 40 acre area, one on one side one the other. So thier horses share pasture. I got Jenny's two in one picture. Kristy's horse were gone with her. She always rides on Fri. while I have JP.

That trip first Cyn was an unknown entity, and we weren't in control of it, and I was very nervous . I'm not even really sure which trail to go to.... Full of indecision. I wish Bob or Tiff had been up there to report how muddy it is up there.
Talking to Tiff on the phone now.
Jenny's horse's Big and Dot wondered up out of the woods.
Becky
That's pretty land! How much land do they have?
OK - off the phone now and I can think... that was kindof a jumbled message!
I think we've decided where to go.. nice short loop that I don't expect would be muddy, in the place near the barn we took the photo today.
Congratulations!!!
Nice truck and trailer!
They have 40 acres, actually 20 each side by side.
Becky
Don't make it too short:)
Becky
Good morning.
The humidity is suppose to be brutal here today. Yesterday the horses were sweating just standing in the shade. Hopefully this is not an indication of the rest of the summer.
Becky
I just checked the radar over WA. Looks like there are some tiny spots of possible rain, but nothing major, so I think you're good to go.
Which horse do you plan putting in the front?
Becky
I was back rereading last nights post, and thought of a funny story I have to tell on myself.
I was going to CTR in Ark by myself. I was excited and nervous and kept going over everthing to make sure I hadn't forgot anything. When it came time to leave, Mack and Charlie were here to wave goodbye, as I started to drive out the drive way, Charlie hollered at me to stop. He walked up to my window and said "Mom, don't you think you should load the horse:)"
One other time I got to the next town over and realized I'd left my food at home in the cooler on the floor of the kitchen:).
I actually have a check list now that I check after I've gotten in the truck to leave but haven' left yet. Last item on it is "horse":).
Becky
Have fun:')
We're having major trouble with humidity here as well. I brought all the horses in yesterday about 1:30 to hose them off and let them stand in the cool barn under the fans. I didn't put them back out until the sun went down. They were sweating like pigs when I brought them in. Probably do the same drill today.
