Boy, they really do look a lot alike. I hate that about that white spot on Belle's withers. That pad must've really been rubbing bad to do that. I love the picture of Grizzly "Skiing". That dog must either have a death wish or your horses are just incredibly tolerant for not kicking him in the head. Goofy Dog! :o)
He's been kicked several times. In fact just after I snapped this picture, Dot kicked out hard with both feet. She didn't get him, I think he was between them. He let go after that.
Harley got him good the other day. You'd think he'd learn.
I'm not sure if Dot was playing with him or mad. He'd stand in front of her, on point, and she'd have her head down staring then all of sudden take off after him. He'd run around and get behind her. Went on for a long time. She never really had her ears pinned, so I don't know if it was play or not.

I don't think that pad was rubbing necessarily, or at least that is what I've been told. It was just that being neoprene it built heat up under it, that couldn't go anywhere so scalded her. When I pulled the pad off that day, it just took the hair and skin off with it. I was really upset. It was a new pad, that I'd paid $120 for. I was told it was the best you could buy...I never used it again, and won't use neoprene anything.

I love the pictures, they are both beautiful mares.
Thanks:)

Mares look good! I've seen permanent white spots like that before. Bay had a white spot from the back of my old saddle where it bridged, and I was crushed and felt awful that I'd let that happen.... But his only stayed one coat change. I got lucky.
Well, I am still up at the beach house. I called and they are not able to get the truck in today, so I scheduled it for tomorrow. It's OK we can still get to bring it home and use it this weekend.
I can't believe you or they ;~D let your dog do that. :~D
Oh, boy, you get to use it this weekend. Have you got a place picked out to go?
I don't really "let" Grizzly do that, I just haven't found a way to make him stop. My SIL is suppose to get me a shock collar to use. It scares me to death to watch...
I got Harley and Dot to the vet today. I was a bit worried about the trailer. I'm using Jennys. It has one big back door, it's a two horse straight load with no divider. I'ts been so long since I've loaded in a straight load, I really don't like them, especially since there is no way to keep one from trying to back out while loading a second one.
Luckily Dot is use to it, I sent her in and she just stood in there while I loaded Harley, who can be a bit hesitant to load. But he did good. When I got to the vets, I told her to be ready to grab one when I opened the door. I opened the door and they both just turned their heads and looked back at us. I finally pulled Harley's tail and he backed out. Then the vet went in and got Dot.
I like my slant with the divider. I've only got to deal with one horse at a time.

There's a couple ideas where to go. I'd like to go to the falls that we tried to get to when ecurbh was on Tiffney's horse, when we missed the turnoff and couldn't find it even when we went around the loop twice. There's a different trailhead that leads right to it that I know better.
I'd like to get a trail report from someone who's been up there to see if the trails are good, or if they are muddy. This early in the year, they can be bad, and I want a nice pleasant ride for our first one. In the past couple years they've done a lot of work on the trails, and put in bridging and gravel in some of the low spots, so it might be better than it used to be.
Dot and Harley? I thought it was Dot and Belle that were going?
I'm on my way to come get you!
Well, I'm sure wherever you go you'll have a blast:) I can't wait for you to go, so I'm sure your anxious:)
Yeah, it was Dot and Harley. They went for vaccinations, and coggins. They needed to be current to go to that clinic in June.
I'm suppose to ride tonight with Tina. I have Rocky saddled, but I've got a gut feeling she's going to be a no show. I'll go anyway for awhile. No since wasting a saddle job:)
I got a flyer on that Memorial Day ride I was talking about. I said the ranch was 2,500 acres, the flyer says 7,500:). This will be great as I'll get permission to ride there on my own. I've wanted to ride there for 18 years:). I've been ther on foot, looking for that run away pony we had, but I've never rode there.
Well, I'm giving Tina few more, then I'll be off.

If you have time will you look at this? Someone sent it to me and I don't understand what they mean by download to server only and bandwith theft.http://foxtrotters.tripod.com/animate.htm
Try 85 dollars! My problem is that my vet only sees horses at lunch and I can't get off work to trailer.'( My ferrier just went up 5 dollars too which I think is bunk. He said because of gas but he does 10-15 when he comes out so.....
It means you can view them.... But they don't want you to hotlink the images in posts here, for example. If you want to download them and put them on your own server, that's fine, they just don't want you to use theirs.
Well here I am having been absent for two days or more, busy with a sour horse. We were 'attacked' by an 'evil donkey' a week or so ago and we have to ride that road over and over to get her to quit trying to throw me and run home. However, mission accomplished.
Hope you are all well!
That's a great picture!
I'm loading some pictures that I took while out riding. Mack installed the quick load thingy. I've got 7 pictures loading and it is saying it's going to take 29 minutes. Is that right? Is it because we are on dial up? Mack is planning on getting DSL here soon.
Becky
Thanks:)
"Attacked by and evil donkey"....what happened? Sounds like a good story:) or maybe not really.
Becky
If they are high res... and you're on dial up, it might take that long...
You'll love having DSL compared to dialup.
I'm on cable and I love it.
