This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Just a quick note............Emma won't be on here much but I thought it would be nice to let her post when someone has a new foal etc. : )
I haven't seen that one yet, you'll have to let me know how it is. I've got "The Face" and "Odd Thomas" and haven't read them yet.
I just fed all the animals and got back to the house in 8 mins! That has got to be a record, who needs exercise equipment when you have animals to feed. I have weightlifting, stretching and running right there in that task!
Well I'm dry now, so Pizza time.

Mack is paying for me, my daughter and my DIL all to go to one of the 3 day ones. June 10,11,12.
We're all pretty excited.
I had Rusty going pretty good, and would have rather taken him, but he has too many health issues that could flair up especially after the stress of a 6 hour trailer ride, so I'm takeing Harley, and I haven't done much work on barrels with him. So I'm kind of pushing faster then I normally would. And I'm not the type that likes to rush, especially with a horse.

LOL...I was like that with my mare. She was always perfect when I took her anywhere, or when we stayed here:)
I'm not so diligent anymore, but I did have to run to town to get some fly spray, he finally got my brand in. I bought some shampoo that is suppose to really make palaminos look better, then just using regular shampoo. It will probably be tomorrow before I can bathe him, unless Tina isn't able to ride tonight.
Have you ever used the color enhancing shampoos? Do they really work or do you just think they work because you paid so much for it? :)

No, I don't think he was warned. He's just smart-alecky and comes across as a troll but we ladies in the saddle club know he's not :)
I got suspended once, for a day. I was picking on one of the best known members because she was really being ugly to someone and I got busted for it. I thought I was gone for good but I was back in the next day. I learned my lesson, though. Won't be pickin' on her anymore.

Isn't he fun? Luckily, we still email each other so I still get to enjoy the sense of humor. Most of ya'll here didn't know that he's an old school buddy of mine. I told him I was on here alot and that's when he joined. He never did tell me he was Keith until now. I had very strong suspicions, though.
Did you see the breastfeeding thread? Some serious nutcases on that one and some were extremely offensive, much more so than Keith has ever been. Keith is never mean to anyone and some posters are mean to EVERYONE.
Martha Josey, allright!! Do you go to her place? Isn't it in Marshall, Texas? I've seen her ranch on tv, it's beautiful. If she lived closer I'd come and audit.
Yeah we will go there. Yes it is around Marshall. My husband, son and Sil, and 2 grand kids are going too:). Kind of a family vacation, altho from what I have heard, I don't think the girls and I will be much company in any free time we get. It's supposedly a very intense weekend. Eight in the morning till 7 in the evening. We're all riding as much as we can to make sure our horses survive:)

On a completly different subject, how is it going at your kids school, have you found a new place for them for next year?
We have definitly decided to go for ACE accademy and we are going to use the "Lighthouse Accademy" that is part of it. Everything that I have seen so far, I am impressed with, the kids are very excited too.

Hi! She's busy with her head stuck in a book, don't know where she gets that from! She has already read the first book of "A series of Unfortunate events by Lemony Snicket", it only arrived yesterday afternoon! She is waiting on the second, and the rest of the collection, which should arrive either this evening or tommorow. She loves them.
Hope everything is going ok at work, sorry to hear about your friend. Hope the heart op. goes well, does he have children?
