This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Thank you for saying nice things about my photos, It was fun taking them. I love all of our animals and will be sad when we sell some of them. I tried to get a photo of the bassets but they were running too fast.
Well we now have three people posting from the same ISP address, although Emma can post from her own pc.
Did Keith get any warnings before he was pulled?

If you're banned, you're banned. If they catch you trying to come back under another name they'll ban you again even if you haven't done anything yet. Repeat offenders are watched for.
Obviously, there are lots of couples and families who post from the same IP address, with either the same name, like Becky and Mack, or different names, like you guys and like ecurbh and me.
I am not sure how sticky it gets if one of an actively FReeping household gets banned but not the other. I bet it's come up!

I've heard of people being banned then allowed back. Somebody that Cav used to talk to all the time did, I think. I can't remember her screen name, but her real name was Carolyn. You know who I'm talking about?

Yeah - I know who you are talking about... Yes... you're right... you can ask for permission to come back, and sometimes it's granted. She had had a long history here, and was banned in a very personal dispute. I know of a couple others. It's a judgment call, pays to be nice to the hosts!
Very pretty little mare. She needs a haircut though, that Mohawk is a little long. You'd think they would've done that before they took her picture. I'm a little picky about that kinda thing. Don't want people to see me riding an ungroomed hoss. I can look like crap and that's ok, but I don't want my hoss looking frumpy. ;o)

Understood, maybe he was on a thread and really upset some people. Who knows......Maybe he's just suspended, guess we'll find out if he posts again! : )
I am glad that they can ban someone who is very offensive though, I mean, sometimes you can be having a serious debate about something worth while, and even though you may not agree with other opinions, you respect them...when along comes some jerk, who mouths off and offends everyone.
I am sure that every site like this gets them though....

Oh sure... there's lots of people banned... and honestly, I think they are a little too quick on the zot trigger sometimes with very new posters who seem like they might be legitimate. Course we can't tell if they are in fact a repeat offender. Once someone's been here a long time, they're a little slower to ban you, and it's political like anything else... people disagree on what should be done with some personalities.
Well I have just got in from feeding the horses, rabbits, dogs and chickens and I look like a drowned rat~! LOL
I am going to dry off, stick a frz pizza in the oven and read my new book by Dean Koontz callled "The Taking". I have just started it this afternoon and am already on page 129. It is very good! I need to own a bookstore! LOL
Tommy is unhappy so I had better get that pizza in, as an early night and medicine is in order for the poor fellow!
